Updated: Mar 30

Barre is a powerful blend of pilates and ballet strength and conditioning with the flowing sequences of yoga. That might sound a little intimidating but this is a form of exercise that is not only open to everyone, but it works for everyone.

What it is and why we love it

Barre is a powerful blend of pilates and ballet strength and conditioning with the flowing sequences of yoga. That might sound a little intimidating but this is a form of exercise that is not only open to everyone, but it works for everyone.

The use of bodyweight exercises, light hand weights and small props deliver a dynamic strengthening and toning class that works fast. The class is low impact, meaning it's great for all ages and abilities and high intensity so you'll always finish the class with a sense of achievement!

The benefits of Barre

Although there is a variety of formats available, each class delivers the fundamentals of barre fitness training. The choreography in every class is varied so you'll never take the same class twice. Each class is a full body workout, featuring compound exercises so you get the most out of your workout.

You'll see your posture, flexibility, strength and range of movement improve dramatically in a short space of time. If you're looking to build lean muscle tone with enough variety in the movement to keep your mind engaged and your body progressing then barre might be just what you're looking for!

Your body, everybody

Don't be put off by the ballet aspect of barre - there is absolutely no dance experience necessary to get the most out of this workout. It's fun, engaging and you'll work your glutes in ways you've never done before! There's a place for everyone at the barre!
