It’s not you.

Life gets loud. A new job. A new baby. A week that ran away with itself.

So none of this runs on willpower. Short classes for when that’s all there is. Live ones for when you need somebody expecting you. And a way back in that never starts from zero.

Consistency isn’t doing it every day. It’s coming back to it.

Teaching since

I recently went to a Reformer Pilates class and that’s when I realised how exceptional Gen is. I was strong, skilled and capable in what was a tricky class.

Emily · App Store

Gen played a crucial role in helping me stay strong both pre- and post-natally, so much so that my gynaecologist was impressed with my pelvic floor strength.

Nicola · Google

I’ve never felt as strong and as toned as I have in recent weeks. No influencer vibe, just good training.

Meet your barre coach

Hi, I’m Gen.

I spent years forcing myself through workouts I didn’t particularly enjoy, mostly because I thought that was what exercise was supposed to feel like.

Then I found barre. And for the first time, I actually wanted to come back.

I started teaching from my living room in 2020 and The Barre Coach grew from there. First online, and now in our little studio in Cobham. The idea behind it has stayed exactly the same: movement that challenges you enough to make a difference, but feels good enough that you’ll actually want to keep doing it.

I’m a qualified Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, so there’s a lot of thought behind what we do, but absolutely no expectation that you’ll get everything right. I’m usually doing the workout alongside you, including the bits I find hard.

And if you’re joining me on the app, there’s a reasonable chance Poppy the dog or Charlie the toddler will wander into shot.

Sorry in advance.

My story

What you’re probably wondering

Answered honestly, including the ones I’d rather dodge.

“What if I pay and then don’t use it?”

Some months will be busier than others. That’s why you can pause rather than cancel. One month, two, three, nothing lost, and you come back to where you were. Classes start at fifteen minutes for the weeks when that’s all there is. Cancel any time, no awkward conversation.

“I’m not sure I’m fit enough.”

You are. Start with the beginners for the choreography, not the fitness. Plenty of very fit women have been humbled by a plié. It’s the moves, not you, and you’ll get more comfortable with them each time.

“I can’t make myself work out at home.”

Fair. That’s the real one, isn’t it. Three things help: live classes where somebody’s expecting you, a free 1:1 with me so you’re not deciding alone, and the WhatsApp group, which is more chat than fitness. And if you’re near Cobham, come and do it in person.

“Is this only for pregnant and postnatal women?”

No. That’s where my qualifications are deepest, which is why you hear about it. Most of our members aren’t pregnant, plenty are well past it, and there’s work in there built specifically for perimenopause, bones and joints.

“What do I need?”

A mat and a bit of floor. Some classes use light hand weights or a band. I’ll tell you before we start, and there’s always a version without.

Come and have a go.

Seven days free on the app, or book your first class in Cobham.

Wobbling is very much allowed.

Cancel any time. Or pause it, which most people don’t realise they can do.

Not ready just yet?
