Barre All Month Long: Your Guide to Completing the January Challenge

The month of January – where resolutions are set, our motivation starts off strong and we tend to lose a bit of momentum as we reach the end of the month. Let’s chat about some tips and tricks to help you stay consistent with our January challenge and keep your motivation mojo in tact.

Make your Barre workout your daily ‘must do’

Let the Sunday scaries motivate you to get your ducks in a row for the week ahead. Use the calendar feature in the app to see what workouts you have coming up this week and schedule them in your work diary so you know you’ll never miss a session.

Barre BFF check-ins

We’re sharing our January challenge with our nearest and dearest so let that partnership be your source of motivation. Check in with your Barre BFF regularly, let her know when you’ve completed a workout, tell her which session of the week was your favourite and give her a shout when your motivation is on the blink and you need a little extra encouragement.

Embrace the wobbly days

Barre is about progress, not perfection! Embrace the days when your plié isn’t picture-perfect or your balance feels totally off. I’m constantly wobbling all over the place, hanging on for dear life through tough upper body work and wishing every plank sequence would end, so trust me, you’re not alone.

Track your progress to see how far you’ve come

Use the calendar feature, mark every workout you finish as ‘complete’ and you’ll see the month start to fill up with green ticks. Let your consistency motivate you to keep going and complete the full challenge.

Dance like nobody's watching... because they aren’t!

I want you to make me a promise. On the days you don’t feel like you want to do it, put your leggings on, stick a fab playlist on and wiggle your way around your front room. Soon you’ll find yourself wiggling straight into the day’s workout and your consistency streak will continue! I’ve used this trick as motivation to film classes so many times - so much so that my living room wiggling has accidentally ended up in some of the class recordings 🙊🙈

As you continue with our January Barre challenge, remember – it’s not just about the pliés and pulses; it’s about prioritising enjoyment in your workouts, finding new ways to motivate yourself, embracing the journey of progression over perfection and celebrating your consistency alongside your Barre BFF.
