A BARRE NEWBIE?
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Inspired by the original Lotte Berk technique, these classes combine the graceful strength and conditioning of ballet training with the stability and control of Pilates. The original technique brought together the world of ballet with injury rehabilitation / prevention exercises which is why you'll find the method is transformational when it comes to recovery from any injuries or niggles you may have.

The Barre Coach method is a hybrid experience, combining the original technique with more traditional strength training, HIIT, Pilates and elements of yoga. You can expect some classic ballet moves (like pliés, working on a rise (up on your toes) and the five basics positions) alongside more traditional strength and body weight training moves such as lunges, squats and press ups. This approach means we're not only working on improving muscular endurance, flexibility and mental focus but also building strength, improving balance and coordination and will power.

I want to support you in breaking down your Barre barriers so I offer one complimentary 30 minute session to each member which is the perfect opportunity for us to spend some time together, going over all the key positions and movement and make sure you're really comfortable with everything. After your first few classes, you’ll get to grips with all the new positions you’re putting your body in, your balance and stability will improve and the moves won’t feel quite as hard over time. With a new Barre challenge ready for you every class, you’ll consistently get stronger but never plateau.

Live beginners classes run twice a week and within the video library, classes and challenges are categorised into levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) so you can find the programme that works best for you.



BEGINNERS CLASSES
Specific beginners class run twice a week on a Monday and a Wednesday morning. These classes are at a slightly slower pace and take you through each of our key positions and movements to give you a strong foundation to take on to the intermediate and advanced classes. They're the perfect starting point for your Barre journey! You will also have access to prerecorded beginners classes within the video library if you can't make the live class times!

GET TO GRIPS WITH THE BASICS
Every class you take as part of the programme is hugely varied but our fundamental starting positions will often be the same. Once you've got to grips with the correct posture and alignment of these positions you will find you quickly feel stronger and more able in your classes.
